Evacuation

Approximately 1.6 km from shore waves were 2 to 3 meters and it became unsafe to continue the swim so it was called. This was not forecasted. All are safe but some equipment was lost. Marilyn is warm and resting. More tomorrow!

  2. MK, you may not have felt sand in your fingernails on this one, but yours was an heroic effort as you willed yourself to push through all the obstacles Lake Nipissing could throw at you and you didnt give up! The primary goal in our sport is always the safety of the swimmer and support team. Your team made the difficult, but right decision to abort the swim.So grateful to your SSO Swim Master and your team for keeping everyone safe. The Nipissing Trackers will be inspired by your story just as you have been inspired by their stories. Rest easy sister mermaid.
