I plan to swim Lake Nipissing from the French R. (Campbells Bay) north-east to Marathon beach in North Bay, Ontario, July 14-19, 2022, 28kms. It has never been swum before. In 2020, I was foiled 3 km from shore by a freak gale with 3m waves and 65kph winds. I am fundraising for The Nipissing Trackers branch of the Nipissing Association for Disabled Youth, a volunteer-run skiing program for disabled youth. HERE SHE BLOWS!
Strong westerly about 25 km per hour with 1 meter waves and on course for Manitou Islands. Most importantly sun is finally shining and warming Marilyn who was looking cold. This should help!
After many , many swims I’ve finally figured out how to look for new posts. This elder is a slow learner. I hope the sun continues to warm Marilyn’s back, fingers and toes. After all the planning You are now able to do what you love...SWIM in Canadian waters.
